Läs Upp – an app that aims to get Swedish kids reading again

Together with the awesome people at King, we created a clever app that "tricked" children to read more. The app simply replaced the screen lock with popular children’s books. So the kids simply had to read a couple of pages to unlock the tablet.

An increasing number of children in Sweden have trouble with their reading and writing skills. Because of distractions such as smartphones, tablets and TV-games, children today read less and less. To help children use the technology in a more productive way, Berättarministeriet (Ministry of tales) has developed Read to Unlock - an app that locks the tablet it's installed on.
